I’m a speaker at the Nonprofit Technology Conference

Hey! I’m excited to officially announce that I’m a speaker at the 2014 Nonprofit Technology Conference in Washington, D.C. It’ll be my third year attending but my first presenting at this event organized by NTEN that attracts 1600+ people from across the United States, Canada and the world who have an interest in using technology at nonprofits. It’s an interesting mix of communications, fundraising and IT folks.

I’m on two panels.

My contribution: I’ll concentrate on the communications strategy used for the integrated awareness campaigns I lead for Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region with a focus on the online components. So it’ll be a mix of the best practices shared in my posts about the 2012 Prince Charming/Harming campaign and the 2013 What about the kids campaign. Videos played a prominent role in both so in part I’ll look at how we shared them.

My contribution: I’ll be sharing 10 ideas on effectively using LinkedIn Company pages. The ideas are from examples such as the 10 great nonprofit LinkedIn pages I highlighted including what makes them great. Look for at least one more related blog post before I arrive in D.C.
