Many organizations choose “do it yourself” photography when they need photos for newsletters, e-newsletters, brochures, websites and other publications. Sometimes it works, more often it doesn’t. The difference is having an eye for a good picture. I’ve used my own photos when working at the YMCA, the University of Waterloo’s Development Office, the Daily Bread Food Bank and JM Drama without sacrificing quality–and I’m fussy. I insist on quality photos that tell a story. I’m confident that my skills and DSLR camera can ensure that you get cost-effective photos that tell your stories. Try me out especially if you are looking for candid, journalist-style shots.
Communicate & Howe! is able to take photos for most of the projects that we work on for your organization. James Howe took all the photos* on this website unless otherwise noted. We are also happy to take pictures for your own use. Our proven track record demonstrates that we can get the shots that capture your audience’s attention and communicate your key messages.
- Our normal rate is $100 for an hour of photography and up to 1/2 hour in the digital darkroom.
- If you are a charity/non-profit, arts or culture organization, or small business, you get all the files–at least all the ones good enough to use!
- Ask about our pricing to get files for use by the public sector or medium-large businesses.
But we’re not dedicated, trained photography specialists. Sometimes it is best to get a professional photographer to ensure you get the highest quality shot that you require. We know who can give your project the professional polish that it requires.
