Upcoming events for nonprofits to enhance their use of technology

There are several events coming up that nonprofits in southern Ontario might find interesting. Each offers a chance to learn how to make better use of technology to more effectively deliver on your mission and strive for your vision.

NetSquared Camp Toronto: Using Technology to Build & Engage our Networks

NetSquared groups are where nonprofits come together to learn about how to use technology. They are connected to TechSoup Canada which helps nonprofits access software and learn to use technology. A group was recently established in Toronto and meets monthly. It’s similar to the Social Media Breakfast: Waterloo Region that I run but with a more targeted audience and broader range of content. (Speaking of Social Media Breakfast: Waterloo Region, our next breakfast is October 24 and features Danny Brown.)

On October 12, NetSquared Camp Toronto is being held. It will use a format similar to the All Day Breakfast UNconference I organized for Social Media Breakfast. You can’t beat the price! It’s only $23 for a full day of learning.

Come to my Twitter session!

I am leading Twitter: The greatest relationship building tool that exists at 1 p.m. This session will build off of my expertise using Twitter shared on my blog. We will look at how to move beyond simply broadcasting information to use this platform to engage supporters and build relationships with them. We’ll look at what you should know to make effective use of your Twitter account and examine best practises as demonstrated by organizations such as the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

Please come and be sure to say hi!

ArtezInterAction 2012

This one day conference on October 18 is organized by ArtezInteractive. Several knowledgeable speakers will be sharing their digital and social expertise. While I’m not one of them, I am attending and looking forward to expanding my knowledge to help my clients. You might like to join me!

Get your head around Google Tools

The Waterloo Wellington Learning Alliance has partnered with Google’s Kitchener Office to provide workshops introducing Google tools and how they can improve the work for community benefit organizations. I’m new to Google Analytics myself so I’m hoping to attend that session.

Or learn from at NTC 2012

Whether you can attend any of theses events or not, you can learn now from what I brought back from the 2012 NTC conference.
