Here’s an overview of one of my favourite sessions from the 2013 Nonprofit Techonology Conference with Beth Kanter and Will Coley. I want to share it because of all the great practical advice on tools and techniques.
I’m share it as a slideshow because I think that suits the content that I’ve shared that includes slides, videos and blogs in addition to tweets.

<div>Storify is my favourite curation tool. I love how I can bring in both the best tweets and links to a variety of other online resources related to an event.

<div>The content here is almost entirely from Beth and Will. In fact much of it is packaged by them in their own way. But I think there is room to add my curated version of this session in a way that works for me and hopefully those who follow me on Storify or read my blog. </div>

<div>
<div>I’ve decided that to more formally start curating (and in a strategic sense) that I’m going to initially focus on nonprofit use of LinkedIn company pages.<br></div>
<div><br></div>
<p>I attended TEDxWaterloo recently and discovered a startup called Primal. I instantly saw it as a tool that curators would like. I haven’t used it much yet so I can’t recommend it but you may want to try it out. It has huge potential as a discovery source because it organizes the web based upon your interests and preferred sources.</div>

Do you have advice on Curating? Tools to recommend? Questions?
Hi James,
Thanks for a great session wrap up! I love seeing all of the different ways people have been sharing their experience at this year’s NTC.
You’re welcome Brendan. Great to hear this recap worked for you. It’s amazing how many great tools we have to share our knowledge and experiences.
I’m just discovering this! I love how you curated our session using storify - and now going to add it to the post I finally got to write up. How are you doing on your action step?
Thanks Beth! I’m happy you had a chance to see this and liked how I used Storify to curate.
I’ve been pretty busy working with clients since NTC but I have started taking my next steps. Since I’m already using Pinterest, I set up boards to collect information on LinkedIn for Nonprofits and LinkedIn Company pages. I’ve also started exploring how Primal can help me. But I still need to spend more time consciously using these tools.
