Communications campaign pays goodness forward

I’m a certified Do Gooder! At least that’s the title I received by agreeing to be one of 12 people or organizations that committed to helping inspire good in the community through the 12 Days for Good.

Initiated by the House of Friendship in Kitchener, the 12 Days for Good was a pay it forward campaign inspired by decades of volunteers helping the agency share food hampers and turkeys for the holidays. This communications campaign shared House of Friendship’s approach to community building through 12 daily themes. Rather than trying to raise funds, it wanted to use its good fortune to inspire more good to be shared across Waterloo Region.

An interview with Christine Rier

I interviewed Christine Rier, Development Director at the House of Friendship, about this campaign, how it was inspired, whether it was considered a success and her tips for other organization’s interested in trying something similar.

Sharing goodness as part of this communications campaign

As one of 12 Do Gooders, I tried to inspire goodness through my actions, my personal twitter account and 12 posts on my personal blog.

The other 11 Do Gooders were also busy doing their part to inspire and share goodness over the 12 days. You should still be able to get a sense of what else happened during the campaign by searching for #12daysforgood on Twitter.
