John Haydon & Lisa Middleton to share expertise in social marketing
Waterloo Region – Nine social media experts will assemble on Monday, June 10 to inspire individuals working or volunteering in the social profit sector (charities, nonprofits & public sector) to embrace the power of social media at Social Media inspirations! The full day conference at the Cambridge Arts Theatre on Water Street includes internationally and nationally recognized experts, lunch and breakfast for $125. Registration is available until Saturday. The featured presenters are:
- John Haydon, co-author of Facebook Marketing for Dummies and Nonprofit Technology Conference speaker, on how to create an epic Facebook strategy
- Ryan Davis, a digital media pioneer since at the age of 20 he joined Howard Dean’s web team, on how to reach digital natives
- Lisa Middleton, the Stratford Festival’s director of marketing, on what Shakespeare taught the Festival about selling itself through social media
- Paul Nazareth on how to use digital media for networking
- James Howe shares how he helped Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region integrate video into its most recent awareness campaign
- Social giving experts: Sara Falconer, Claire Kerr, John Lepp & Clare McDowall
“While the day has a bias towards the social profit sector,” said organizer James Howe, “just like Social Media Breakfast: Waterloo Region that I’ve organized for the last three years, the knowledge and expertise shared are easily transferable to a wide variety of situations including small and medium businesses. Developing and executing a Facebook strategy is the same for example and how the Stratford Festival markets itself online is also relevant to individuals working in private sector organizations.” “These speakers are coming from Boston, New York, Toronto and Stratford. To have all of them together in Waterloo Region is rare. Normally we would have to travel to Toronto or further to learn from them in person. Instead, the conference is attracting people from outside Waterloo Region including Toronto, the Niagara Region and Guelph to come here.”
